Concider sending some work to quote to James.  I think you will find him nice to work with.

GREETINGS, I am a disabled Journeyman Toolmaker, and I do have a very well equipped machine shop in my garage!.  I have never invented anything but do have two ideas I am doing research on, but I can hit on that idea in the future!..  A "high end"sheet metal shop where I get most of my work from gives me first oppertunity to do any and all machinig he cannot do himself due to holding a tight tolerance or something odd.  He has invented one successfull item but it is strickly for the Veterin's Home in King, WI., I can discuss it if you may be interested, I am doing the machining on another item that has something to do with welder's, sorry I can not say what.  It has been an interesting learning experience!.  A High School Band Instructor was told about me from the sheet metal shop owner and I found out he is working on an item to prevent the mouthpiece from getting jammed on a trombone  so it cannot be removed without a specially made jig or else taking it to a machinre shop!.  He came to me with some large plastic parts he fit together and he new nothing about machining.  I helped him do the R&D and get a working proto-type which was small, fits any trombone and work's great, he could not beleive I was capable of taking a pieced together idea and design it down to size and calculate sizes, threads, assembly, I have ran off 50 of them for him thus far to dispaly and he has sold a couple to several music stores to get an idea of how popular they may become.  We also discussed the best way to have them mass produced.  He is now working with a music company of some sort and they are testing it and he hopefully  he will be able to sell them the patent, or preferably the patent and a percentage on each one sold!.  I am interested in learning the steps involved in inventing an item and I may be helpfull to you from the Journeyman Toolmaker angle!. Please inform me if you think you may be interested in anything that I may be able to assist you with on your new website to help you get it going!home # 715-256-TOOL (8665).  Address:  723 Seventh Street, Waupaca, Wi 54981.  Email:

In response to a readers question Doug sent this link for calculating tool RPM etc.
Thank you Doug for this response

Here is a link to calculate all variations of chip load, RPM, surface feet, etc...
