Networking is important.

Inventors. One of the easiest ways to get help with your inventions is to get involved.  Attend and join various community groups.  Join  economic alliance groups, economic development groups, port authourties, chamber of commerce and any other groups that are trying to create economic programs in your community.  There are great friendships to be made, there are opportunities to network with people that want to help you and your product flourish.  Your product will help employment in your community.  You probably have something great for your area.  More that you know. Many people involulved in these can help in many different ways, Technical, suppliers, Investors, Business counceling etc. Take some time, get invoulved.  You have knowledge to offer as well. Help your community.

Hello!,

Just a little input from an typical idea man. Things to ponder if you are struggling to make things happen when it comes to bringing your ideas to fruition.  I've been working on ideas for years now, only to put them on a shelf to collect dust.  I know there are people out there in the same boat.  But there is hope on the horizon.  It can be very frustrating sometimes because the tools are there but you don't know how to use them.  I've recently discovered through Invention Works, that opportunities are there.  Starting out, there is a multitude of avenues and hurdles to address, but it's keeping an eye on the big picture that is going to get you where you want to be.  Search your ideas before you do anything.  It can be time consuming but it will bring your idea to the forefront of whether to pursue it or not.  Then take it and get feedback from others, and be prepared to except reality.  There is a fine line in this matter so be careful not to divulge too much info. Then you can work on the prototype so you can shop your idea to potential investors.  Not an easy task as some of you may know.  Money! if you build it , and there's a market for it , it will come.  If your out of work, it can make you frazzled, but don't be discouraged.  For me it's taking the simplest of ideas and working on them, that seems to alleviate the pressure.  Most of all keep a positive attitude, i can't stress this more!. Also for me, a strong support of my wife and family helps a lot.  And friends like Steve, Jesse, and Dave along with up and coming members of INVENTION WORKS, make for a good team of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and Good hearted characters, that are Driven by American values and industrial prowess.  This is what we need in this Economy.  Not to be driven out of our houses, or our minds because of what the bankers, and corrupt politicians put in place, but for the people to rise up and persevere.  America wasn't built on statistics or media hype or blind ambition, it was built on a framework of farout ideas, and ingenuity. I'm glad to be a part of this movement towards that model of Americanism.  That said, I'm just trying to uplift the few out there that are trying to achieve their dreams, not just for themselves, but for the good of mankind as a whole. And hope we can work together in what ever we can do.  I believe INVENTION WORKS can provide these tools so many of us can learn the process and move forward. SO BE IT!  I'm glad i got that off my chest.  If anyone else feels they need to vent any kind of enthusiastic praise, please do so, we'd love to here it.

Scott Goodman,  INVENTION WORKS
